Peabody Retirement Community Celebrates 95 Years

On September 12, 2026, Peabody Retirement Community celebrated a very special milestone — our 95th birthday! And what better way to celebrate 95 wonderful years than with a day filled with music, laughter, delicious food, family-friendly fun, and the people who make our community so special?

Our North Manchester campus came alive as residents, families, friends, and members of the surrounding community gathered to celebrate this incredible occasion. From classic cars and live music to shopping, games, and plenty of birthday cake, there was something for everyone to enjoy!

A Birthday Party to Remember

We went all out for our 95th birthday, filling the day with activities and entertainment for all ages!

Car, bike, and tractor enthusiasts enjoyed checking out an impressive variety of vehicles on display, while visitors explored booths featuring local vendors, handmade creations, sweet treats, and unique gifts.

Food trucks kept everyone well-fed throughout the afternoon, and live music from The Steele Rail Band brought even more energy to the celebration. There was singing, dancing, and plenty of laughter as everyone joined in the festivities.

Our youngest guests had lots to enjoy, too! With games, a petting zoo, and horse rides provided by Equestrian Dream, there was no shortage of excitement. We also welcomed visitors for Independent Living open house tours, giving them an opportunity to explore another wonderful part of life at Peabody.

And of course, no birthday celebration would be complete without cake — especially when you’re celebrating 95 years!

Celebrating Our Community and Local Businesses

One of the highlights of the day was the incredible support from local businesses and vendors who helped make our celebration so memorable.

From delicious homemade goodies and specialty foods to jewelry, clothing, home décor, and handcrafted items, our vendor lineup offered something for everyone. It was wonderful to see so many talented local entrepreneurs come together and share their products with our residents and guests.

A special thank-you goes to all the vendors, food providers, and entertainers who contributed their time and talents. Your participation helped turn this milestone birthday into a true community celebration!

We would also like to extend our sincere appreciation to the North Manchester Center for History for helping us gather historical information about Peabody’s past. As we celebrated this milestone, it was especially meaningful to look back and appreciate the history that has shaped our community.

While the birthday festivities were certainly something to remember, the best part of the day was seeing the smiles on our residents’ faces. Watching everyone enjoy the music, spend time with loved ones, explore the activities, and simply have fun together reminded us why celebrations like these are so meaningful.

Our 95th birthday was about more than marking another year. It was about celebrating the people, memories, friendships, and experiences that have made Peabody such a special place for generations.
