Peabody Retirement Community has invited Kosciusko County Veterans Service Officer Rich Marion to speak to residents and the public about issues of importance to retired veterans and spouses on Thursday, May 14 at 1 p.m. The event, which is open to the public will be held in Peabody’s Enrichment Center.
According to Peabody, Marion will offer tips for accessing the VA Health Care System along with an overview of disability benefits available to qualifying retired veterans. The Veterans Service Officer will also introduce the Aid and Attendance benefit- a service offered available in Assisted Living communities. The tax-free benefit available to qualifying wartime veterans and their surviving spouses, 65 years and older, and is provided by the Department of Veteran Affairs. Also, Marion will speak about the Healthcare VA contract available at Peabody. This unique contract pays for healthcare costs to qualifying veterans- it is unique to Peabody and the surrounding area.
